The Summits of Lhakpa Sherpa, directed by Academy Award nominee Lucy Walker, tells the remarkable story of Lhakpa Sherpa who, as a girl denied an education, concealed her gender to work in the mountains. She became the first Nepali woman to summit Everest before immigrating to the US, where despite being the most decorated female climber of Everest she has raised two children as a single mother working at a Connecticut Whole Foods. Netflix acquired worldwide rights to Mountain Queen: The Summits of Lhakpa Sherpa out of the 2023 Toronto Film Festival.

The film won Best Outstanding Documentary at the 2025 Peabody Awards. The film has also received 2 Sports Emmy nominations including Outstanding Long Documentary and Outstanding Long Camera Work, in addition to a PGA nomination.

In conjunction with the Netflix debut of Mountain Queen: The Summits of Lhakpa Sherpa, OBB Cares proudly partnered with Lhakpa Sherpa to launch the transformative Lhakpa Sherpa Climb Any Mountain Initiative - an organization dedicated to empowering women, girls, and those from marginalized communities to rediscover their strength through the healing power of nature. In its inaugural efforts, OBB Cares collaborated with Lhakpa and Alexandria House, an LA-based nonprofit dedicated to providing safe housing and holistic support to individuals overcoming homelessness and trauma, on a roundtable luncheon with female leaders from the local community, cultivating dialogue about empowerment, healing, and growth. Lhakpa also led a group hike with the women of Alexandria House, creating a space for connection, inspiration, and transformation.
